JUD CRANDALL is an illustrator, collagist, musician, sound maker, graphic designer, and organizer, exploring spatial and narrative possibilities in analogue and digital media. He has worked in broadcasting, publishing, education, printing, event planning, promotions, with volunteers, and freelance, for over 20 years.

As an independent musician and sound artist, Jud's work has ranged from awaard winning groups Wooden Wives and The Organizers, to more abstract sounds and collaborations as Usse. Since 2015, this has included audio installations with Third Space Gallery, Third Shift, AX Arts & Culture Center, and SappyFest.

Jud holds a BEd from UNBSJ, and has taught Broadcast Arts at InterAction School of Performing Arts. He became a founding member of Local 107.3fm in 1998, wearing all manner of hats from volunteer to Station Manager, before retiring as Programming Director in 2015.

With his partner Emily and son Vincent, Jud lives and works out of their home in Saint John, NB, near the Wolastoq River mouth.

EXTRA FINAL launched as a craft record label in 2016, and has since issued 15 single, EP, and album length releases on CD, cassette, digitally, and in print. In 2022, Extra Final began publication of Illegal Bodies, Jud’s first comic work, expanding the imprint to include small press.
